Summer School July 2021

The dedicated Summer School Team have spent this week having the pleasure of meeting our wonderful new Year 7 students who have been enjoying a fun-filled week of activities including:

  • Science experiments
  • Drumming workshops
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Tutor Time and Tuck Shop
  • Escape rooms and problem solving
  • Sports, games and team work
  • Historical research and re-enactment

The team would like to thank the students for their enthusiasm, kindness and politeness which has made the week a genuine pleasure for everyone involved.

Thank you to the parents who have sent kind and positive messages about the value of summer school for building their child's confidence in making new friends and familiarising themself with staff and the building, whilst having lots of fun.

Funding

This year we were incredibly grateful for DFE funding which allowed us to provide a summer school for Year 7 children free of charge. 90 students took up this offer and we received a grant of £14 758 based on the costings below.
