GCSE Results 2017

Church Stretton School students celebrated record results with 79% of students achieving the new more demanding standard pass grade of ‘4’ (equivalent to C grade) in both English and maths.

Student performance in core subjects included 89% of all students achieving at least a grade 4 in English with 82% achieving a grade 4 or higher in maths. 

There were many outstanding individual performances, with highlights including Freya Wynne with exceptional grade 9 in both maths and English Language, 7A* and 2 A grades, Jess Halliday 3A* and 6A, Tom Johnson 5A* and 5A, Kate Ireland 2A*, 7A and 1 B, and Alice Holland 2A*, 5A and 2B.

In addition, Yasmin Jamie, Rosie Sharman and Freya Wynne achieved the prestigious grade 9 in English with Tom Johnson and Freya Wynne achieving a grade 9 in maths.

We are all so proud of the results of every student in Year 11 and are delighted that so many students have obtained the grades required to pursue their ambitions. These excellent results are a reflection of the outstanding work ethic of this year group as well as the commitment from teachers who put in so many hours of work and the parents who supported their children and the school so well.
