GCSE Results 2018

Church Stretton School students celebrated their GCSE results with 62% of students achieving the new more demanding standard pass grade of ‘4’ (equivalent to C grade) in both English and maths.

Student performance in core subjects included 73% of all students achieving at least a grade 4 in English with 70% achieving a grade 4 or higher in maths.

There were many outstanding individual performances, with highlights including Ewein Howes with 5 grade 9 and 4 grade 8, Helena Crump with 5 grade 9, 3 grade 8 and one grade 7 and Reuben Kershaw with 6 grade 9 and 3 grade 8.

In addition, Tara Adams with 5 grade 9, 1 grade 8 and 3 grade 7, Megan Underhill with 3 grade 9, 4 grade 8, one grade 7 and an A*, Molly Portman with 4 grade 9, 2 grade 8, 2 grade 7 and 1 grade 6, Daisy Moyers with 1 grade 9, 5 grade 8 and 3 grade 7 and Holly Harris with 6 grade 8, 1 grade 7, 1 grade 6 and a B grade.

We are delighted that so many students have obtained the grades required to pursue their ambitions. These results are a reflection of the students’ outstanding work ethic as well as the commitment from teachers who put in so many hours of work and the parents who supported their children and the school so well.

We wish this group well in their future studies and work and thank them for their contribution to the life of the school.
