Welcome to Church Stretton School

Time is passing by so quickly, and with the weather as it is at the moment I sometimes wonder what season it is, never mind what month! Summer is almost upon us and our Year 11s are working so hard on their exams. We of course wish them all the very best of success. It's lovely that they have their Prom to look forward to on 24th June.

You will have seen from the latest newsletter that we have a number of staff changes coming up in September. We are excited to be welcoming John Parr, our new Deputy Headteacher, and Jon Smith, SENCO, to the team. At the same time, it is sad that we are losing Mrs Gibbs and Mrs Dadswell, both of whom are retiring after long service in English and Science respectively. We wish them both a long and happy retirement.

Our current Year 9s are getting ready for their transition to Key Stage 4 and to working hard on their choice topics, as well as their core subjects. Current Year 10s become the "big boys and girls" of the school in September, and we are confident they will rise to the challenge and set a good example for the younger pupils. Senior Pupil Training is already under way for some of them. We are also preparing hard and looking forward to welcoming our new intake of students in September, and hope that they are as excited as we are. Of course, we wouldn't want to leave out the current Year 7s and 8s who have also had a fantastic year and are ready to progress up the school.
